How Great....

As we were sitting on the beach last night watching the sunset, I was just in awe of how beautiful the sunset was!!  I just started singing....

The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

This was the best day of my life!!!

The Lord has been so good to us!!!  Adam told me a couple of weeks ago, that we really need to go on vacation together as a family. Believe it or not, we've never been on a family vacation!!  We've traveled together, but it was always for a purpose...Christmas or weddings in MI last year...so, we decided to go this year!!

Now, my no means to we have a lot of money, but the Lord provided a lovely cottage for us to stay in for SUPER CHEAP!!!  If you know me, you know that I LOVE cheap!!!  We're staying at this adorable little cottage in Lakeside MI, right off Lake Michigan!!  It's literally a block to the beach!!

Adam & I aren't really "beach" people, but obviously our kids are!!  We got in yesterday and immediately changed into our swimsuits (YIKES!!!) and headed for the sun & sand!!!  The kids played, and played, and played....it was awesome!!!  I've never seen a beach so beautiful and it made me, yet again, awestruck with God's beauty!!  I can't believe this beach is in MICHIGAN!!!  Wow!!!!  Well, better get ready for the beach again.... :)

...last night before bed, Bryson told Adam "this was the best day of my life!!!".... Thank you Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever???

Have you ever felt so clearly, God's Will for your life?  Have you ever, without a doubt, known that it is Him working?  Maybe a new job, or a new house...a divine appointment of sorts?  I can't tell you how many times in the last 2.5 years I have felt this feeling...seriously like God has his hand on the back of my neck guiding me in the way He wants me to go....kind of how I guide my children thru a crowd.

I can't begin to tell you every instance, but I have no doubt that God has His hand firmly placed on Adam and I right now.  Things are lining up perfectly and we know without a doubt, that His will is being done!!  We appreciate your prayers as we begin this new adventure in our lives!!!

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.  ~Jeremiah 29:13~

First of many...I hope....

If you know me, you know that I LOVE baseball!!  Living in NC, away from my Detroit Tigers, for a whole season, was torture for me.  Adam and I would hook up his laptop to our tv, and watch their games on mlb.com last summer, every game!!  Crazy I know!!  I would even park myself in front of the tv playing Sportscenter at the gym last summer....drove my NC bestie Casey CRAZY!! :)

So, when Adam and I moved back up here, one of my first comments was..."we're getting season tickets & I'm going to Opening Day!"  Well, we did get the tickets, and I did go to Opening Day!  We bought a package with my brother and are going to about 28 games this summer!!  BUT, last night was Meghan's first time going!!!

Now, she has been to a Tiger game before, but she was about 8 months old and doesn't remember it.  We moved when she was 2, so she never really had the memories that Bryson does of going to downtown Detroit for a game.  I think, based on her expression, she thought the game was going to be on a softball field like the ones that Mommy & Daddy play on.  Boy, was she shocked!!  She told me that the Tigers play in a beautiful place...boy do they ever!!

Meghan was so good...she waited patiently until we were seated before asking for her peanuts (what's a game without them!!) and ate her Ball Park up!!  She watched the players, cheered, got put on the big screen (wow!!!)  and sang along in the 7th inning stretch!  I couldn't have asked for her to behave better!!  It was a good night, one that she won't forget....

neither will I!!!! :)

You know you're old when.....

Softball season has begun!!!  I absolutely LOVE playing ball, but I've come to realize something....I'm old!!!  I may not look my age, but man, my body (specifically my knees)  knows the truth!!!  I feel like it just hit me like a ton of bricks, but there have been warning signs....such as....

You know you're getting old when....

you're noticing you are getting closer to the top of the age bracket of the team, and FARTHER from the younger crowd....

you're asked to help coach (that should have been my true wake up call...lol!!!)

you actually say out loud..."boy, that run from 1st to 3rd sure was a lot easier in my 20's"....ugh....

about 5 minutes after the game is over, you're having a hard time walking....

you pop 4 Advil as soon as you get home so that you can make it up the stairs.....

after every game, you seriously start thinking about drinking joint juice...hopefully it would help your aching knees....

BUT, even after all of that, I absolutely LOVE playing!!!  I have no intention of quitting any time soon!!  The team this year, is full of amazing girls with fantastic hearts and attitudes!!!

My goal is to one day play with Meghan out there...that's only 12 more years....lol!!!  I can do it!!!  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....

(the pic above is of course the BEST 2nd basemen, now 3rd baseman Placido Polanco....LOVE Polly!!!)

Why are there so many songs about rainbows...

When we moved back to Michigan, I found a ballet class for Meghan to join.  She LOVES going to ballet. I mean, of course she does...she gets to dance around the whole time and be her favorite thing...a ballerina (besides a princess).  She has blossomed soooo much since she's been there and she's working so hard for her recital.  I'm really proud of her.

Well, not only was last night the closing program for AWANA at church, but it was ballet picture night!!  She has been wanting to put her costume on and dance around, so she finally got to do just that!!  She did great during pictures...we all know she HATES (hahahahaha!!) getting her picture taken and posed like a beautiful ballerina!! <tears>  She's getting so big, so I have to treasure these moments!!!

Her class are frogs.  They're dancing to the song by the talented Kermit the frog called "Rainbow Connection".  I just have to say....they are TOO CUTE!!!  I can't wait for the recital to see how she does.  She wanted to take ballet, but as I'm watching her grow I'm finding that she is built just like me...long and lanky.  I'm hoping ballet will help her be a little more graceful than good-ole-Fumblina mom!!

Perfect summer day....

Last week, we had a taste of summer...okay, it was like taking a "taste" of ice cream on those little tiny spoons to see if you want that flavor or not....it was VERY brief!!!  It got me thinking about what my perfect summer day is....sunny, laying out in my hammock reading while my kiddies are playing.  Yep, sounds perfect!!!

This summer I already have a reading list to get thru.  I'm a huge reader, but the last couple years, it has been really difficult to get thru a book without falling asleep.  Yep, I think I'm getting old.  But, this summer, I have a list....

5 Conversations you must have with your daughter by Vicki Courtney.  Our church did this as a study a while back and I didn't get to do it.  It's a great book so far!!!!  It's a bit crazy reading about how society has such an effect on little girls!!!  Ugh....

Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp.....I've tried reading this book several times, but I'm determined this summer to get thru it!!!!

Becoming more than a good Bible Study girl by Lysa Terkeurst...I'm sooooo excited about this book!!!  I just got it the other day, and it looks GREAT!!!

Forgotten God by Francis Chan...halfway thru....MUST FINISH IT!!!!

The five Love Languages by Gary Chapman...can't believe I've never read this!!!

Made to Crave: Satisfying your Deepest Desire with God, not food by Lysa Terkeurst

Capture His Heart: Being the godly wife your Husband Desires by Lysa Terkeurst

Any suggestions.....?????????
